The speed limit is not a rule here, it is a part. Hold the button and watch the needle stop on its own - that ceiling is built into the controller on every scooter in the fleet.

01 · The ceiling

Twenty, and not one more.

Hold the button. The needle climbs the way the scooter does, and then it stops at twenty - not because you let go, but because it will not go further. It is built into the scooter itself, not into the app, so there is nothing to talk your way past.

02 · The zones

Slower where people walk.

Twenty is the ceiling on the main streets. Turn into a lane between two buildings and the scooter drops itself to eight - walking pace, near enough - because that is where somebody steps out without looking. You do not set it, and you cannot override it.

03 · The handover

You steer. It watches the speed.

Governing is not a nanny. It is the one job a rider should not have to do while also watching for a door opening into their line - so the vehicle takes it, permanently, and leaves you the part that needs a human.
